Introductions -- Participants share for about a minute about the organization they represent and the interest they have in senior outpatient medication safety

1:00 p.m.       Reconvene -- Outpatient Safety Focus Discussion:  break into two groups, one focusing on health system changes and the other on consumer actions, to brainstorm and list the system changes and consumer actions that need to take place to make outpatient medication use safer for seniors    

 

3:15 p.m.          Break

 

3:30 p.m.          Groups report back to the larger group on the lists developed

 

4:30 p.m.          Individual prioritizing of consumer actions and system changes

 

5:00 p.m.          Develop consensus on top consumer actions and system changes

 

6:30 p.m.          Dinner – Sit-down dinner in Dining Room

 

Tuesday, November 11

 

7:30 a.m.          Breakfast – Self-serve buffet in Dining Room

8:30 a.m.       Create Action Agenda:  Working with the prioritized action agenda, the two groups reconvene to develop one long-term and one short-term project regarding either the system changes or consumer actions, and details on implementation of each project.   

 

10:15 a.m.          Break  

 

10:45 a.m.          Reporting back about projects, discussion, next steps

 

11:45           Lunch – Main Conference Room – Buffet served outside of conference room. 

Lunch briefing with government agencies.  Representatives from the retreat will brief officials.  Officials will respond to the developed action agenda and discuss how agenda and next steps could fit into agencies’ agendas.
